After topping the provisional classification since the beginning of the third round of the 2007 FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup, Mitsubishi's Luc Alphand and Gilles Picard (both France) take a lead of 3 hours and 37 minutes with them into tomorrow's short final test (Wednesday).
On the eve of the first true Atacama stage which will take competitors to the event's final overnight halt in Antofagasta on Tuesday, Mitsubishi's Luc Alphand and Gilles Picard (both France) profited from their first taste of open desert today to consolidate their advantage at the top of the 2007 Por Las Pampas Rally's leaderboard.
In stark contrast to the shortest stage of the 2007 Por Las Pampas Rally, Saturday, today's action featured one of the longest and also one of the slowest competitive sections of the nine-day event.
